Vintage Bulbous-Form Light Green Demijohn with Cork Stopper
$450.00Pale green demijohn/carboy originally used for transporting wine (ca. Early 20th Century, France).
Composed of ‘blown-to-mold’ glass (a method accepted as ‘hand-blowing’) exhibiting trapped air bubbles within the glass itself with a sheared lip and small cork stopper.
Thoroughly cleaned, though spotting and light soiling remain, as shown.

Vintage Ceramic Fish Ashtray / Decorative Dish by Marc Bellaire
$95.00This ‘fish’ ashtray / decorative dish is by the famed American artist / ceramicist, Marc Bellaire, who was a former employee of Sascha Brastoff before launching his own studio.
Nice incorporation of textures, including sgraffito composition of fish itself and mottled detail. The dark golden color is contrasted by the black detailing. Arrangement of tripod feet give the piece a nice, curved shape. Signed on the bottom.

Vintage Ceramic Planter Vase in Pale Pink Matte Glaze by Deanna Nichols

Holding a BFA from Kansas City Art Institute (1965) and an MFA from Claremont Graduate University in California (1967), Nichols was educated in painting and complex pottery making techniques at an academic level and later served as an educator at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, Southwestern College in Chula Vista, CA, and The Chrysler Museum School in Norfolk, VA.
The second floor of the new student center at Kansas City Art Institute is named for Nichols (see image).
This set dates to the early 1990s, based on the signature “D. Nichols,” which she used during that era and features a design reminiscent of the linear pattern and shape of certain sea shells. The rim decorated with incised sinuous lines protrudes out slightly from the vessel. The matte pale pink, olive green, and brown palette with a lightly mottled surface gives the piece a gentle, organic quality.
