Small Vintage Green and Beige Speckled Stoneware Bud Vase by Deanna Nichols
$175.00Pinched stoneware vase with drainage hole by ceramicist, Deanna Nichols (b. 1942-2017, Missouri).
Holding a BFA from Kansas City Art Institute (1965) and an MFA from Claremont Graduate University in California (1967), Nichols was educated in painting and complex pottery making techniques at an academic level and later served as an educator at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, Southwestern College in Chula Vista, CA, and The Chrysler Museum School in Norfolk, VA.
The second floor of the new student center at Kansas City Art Institute is named for Nichols (see image).
Circa 1979 studio piece featuring a square vessel atop a round base, giving the piece an asymmetrical shape, in organic, earthen hues of white and green with brown stippled detail and ribbed texture.
Incised “Nichols” signature present to the reverse.

Stelvia Amber Blown-Glass ‘Antiqua’ Vase designed by Wayne Husted
$195.00This Italian amber vase was designed by Wayne Husted (famous for his work with Blenko in the 1950s and 1960s) for Stelvia and imported by Peedee. The pattern, inspired by medieval imagery, is known as, ‘Antiqua’ and features bold textures of contrasting round shapes and straight symmetrical lines.

Studio Pottery Glazed Stoneware Sculptural Box Signed “Polk 70”
$400.001970 Polk stoneware “box” with a high-gloss black glaze blended with white, resulting in a smudged black and almost pink base color with burnt orange banding. Crude by design with an unevenness to both the form and textural elements. The orange banding has a rough, incised pattern throughout.

Studio Pottery Piggy Bank by David Gil and Yusuke Aida for Bennington Potters
$350.00Mid-Century Modern unglazed greige and glazed blue studio pottery pig sculpture/bank designed in the 1960s by David Gil and Yusuke Aida for Bennington Potters of Vermont (model #1541). Scarcely seen in this particular color combination.
Executed in a style akin to sgraffito, the floral details were created by removing beads of the top layer to form the pattern from the blue underglaze.
Very good, vintage condition with only light patina present; no chips, cracks, or crazing.
Includes a rubber stopper, as shown.
