Pair of Two-Tier Walnut and Iron Side Tables by Furnwood Corp

These minimal side tables comprised of iron frames and walnut tops were designed and manufactured by the Furnwood Corporation of Brockton, MA in the 1950s. Furnwood Corp was a very small company, and these pieces are rarely seen and hardly ever marked. The metal tags (indicating both retailer and manufacturer) are present on both tables and read ‘Al Huller Furniture Co., Inc New York, Ny / Mfd. by Furnwood Corporation Brockton, Mass.’ Paul McCobb designed a small group of furniture for the Furnwood Corp (produced for directional). Although these tables are not McCobb, the design is reminiscent of the simple iron tables, benches, and case pieces he designed as part of the ‘Planner Group.’ The height to the bottom tier is 16.5″. The depth of the top tier is 13″.
