Italian Modernist trompe-l’œil tray by Piero Fornasetti (ca. mid-1950 – early 1960s, Milan).
Composed of a black lacquered metal surface with lithographic transferred imagery of “Nastro e Fiori” or “Ribbons/Tape and Flowers” displaying delightful botanical floral bouquets united by a central red ribbon.
Elegant piece with attractive colors contrasted against the dramatic black background.
Very good, vintage condition with wear consistent with age and materials (spots of edge loss and surface scuffs, as shown).
Retains manufacturer’s label to the reverse.
