Early ‘Nesso’ Table Lamp Designed by Giancarlo Mattioli for Artemide

Early example (late 1960s) ‘Nesso’ table lamp designed by Giancarlo Mattioli and Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti for Artemide. Unlike the later re-issues of this iconic lamp, this example was formed using ABS Thermoplastic Injection molding technology. Mushroom shape composed of a flared stem with four sockets and wide ‘umbrella’ top. Excellent, vintage condition sans a small 1″ long crack by cord outlet. (Wear is in the back, and isn’t visible from the front.)

French Moderne Chrome “Barbell” Pivoting Table Lamp by Pierre Cardin

Pierre Cardin ‘barbell’ pivoting chrome table lamp (ca. 1960s, France). Similar to a version by John Mascheroni for Kovacs lamp with slight design and material disparities.
The on/off operation is controlled internally by a mercury switch, which allows one to illuminate the lamp by tilting it downward. When the lamp is in the upright position, it is off. It rests upon an acrylic base and is an extraordinary example of innovative form and function.
Very good, vintage condition with minor, light scuffs to the chrome and acrylic, as shown.

Gerald Thurston for Lightolier Brass and Metal Table Lamp with Crescent Base

Gerald Thurston for Lightolier table/desk lamp with oversized, fully adjustable/hinged shade, brass stem and crescent base (ca. 1950s, USA). A plexi diffuser has been added (not original to the piece and not required for use). Retains the original dual-porcelain socket and brass finial.
White enamel has been conservatively touched up. There are some scuffs to the paint and unevenness to the brass finish.
Newly rewired.

Oversized, impressive brass table lamp Model L2B Ippocastano (Horse Chestnut) designed by Carlo Giorgi for Bottega Gadda, though often mis-attributed to Tommaso Barbi, with whom Giorgi collaborated (ca. 1970s, Milan, Italy).
Large version of this table lamp composed of twelve brass leaves inserted into a cylindrical column-form stem.
Substantial light source accommodating four standard bulbs in the sockets under the leaves and one additional standard bulb at the top.
Original wiring, and plug (plug will be changed for US use, unless otherwise requested).
Previously (not newly) polished – patina/tarnish spots remain, particularly to top and base, as shown. Can be rectified by polishing.

Mid Century Italian Modernist Wall Swag Lamp in Brass and Red Lacquered Metal

Extendable, elegant swag lamp in brass with perforated red lacquered metal shade and red leatherette wrapped arm and handle containing the on/off switch (Italy, ca. 1950s).
The handle is counter weight to modulate the height of the shade – when it is pulled down, the shade is adjusted upward, and when it is released, the shade is lowered. Furthermore, the telescoping stem arm be manually lengthened or shortened, depending on preferred shade/light source placement.
Discerning design details in armature show fine craftsmanship and inspired construction.
Very good, original condition with warm patina to the brass and light wear to the original lacquer, as shown.

Mid-Century Yellow Cylindrical Lantern Table Lamp with Three-Way Walnut Switch

Unique column/tube table lamp in attractive yellow metal and plastic (top is enameled metal, while the column is yellow plastic) with a wooden cube three-way switch, which, when used with a three-way bulb, allows for three illumination settings (this function requires a three way bulb / ca. 1960s, USA).
Design is reminiscent of a camping lantern with gaps between the cylindrical frame and cap, providing easy access to the bulb.
Good, vintage condition with two thin cracks to the plastic (one small line to the front above the switch and one slightly longer one to the back, as shown).
