Pair of Vintage Oversized Tessellated Stone Jax / Jacks Sculptures or Bookends
$1,500.00Set of two Hollywood Regency-Style jax/jacks sculptures composed of tessellated stone – one black, one beige, made for the Marquis Collection of Beverly Hills (Philippines, ca. late 1980s/early 1990s).
Jacks, popular decorative objects given their unique shapes, are most commonly found in cast iron or metal. These examples are extraordinary given the luxurious material employed and relatively large scale (H: 7.75″ x L: 10.75″ x D: 9″).
Excellent vintage condition free of damage; lines are naturally occurring within the stone itself.
Retains the Marquis Collection foil label.
Vintage Black Tessellated Stone Hinged Box Attributed to Maitland Smith
1970s Maitland Smith-attributed black tessellated stone box with red and green stone inlay (Gucci colors represented, though no such attribution known).
Hinged top opens to reveal a grey felted interior (top does not stay up on its own; it must be held).
Excellent, vintage condition; only minor wear present.
Measures: H: 4.75″ x D: 7.88″ x L: 7.88″.
Vintage Brass and Tessellated Stone Dome-Lidded Box After Maitland Smith

Box/jar is composed of pink tessellated coral stone with inset brass hardware and an iridescent lilac/mauve abalone shell domed top, both with felted interiors.
Very good, vintage condition with light edge wear to the underside of the top.
Measures: H: 6.75″ x Diameter: 5.25″.

Maitland Smith console table with black tessellated stone surface framed by crude gray stone border, all supported by cast bronze base (ca. 1980s, Philippines).
Excellent, vintage condition with very minor wear (what appears to be light surface scuffs are veins present within the stone itself).
Retains the “Maitland Smith Handmade in the Philippines” manufacturer foil label.

Attractive accent/side table in beige tessellated fossil stone with brass inlay border by Maitland-Smith (ca. 1970s, Philippines).
Very good, vintage condition with light wear naturally occurring in the stone itself.
There is one spot where the brass trim is recessed/uneven. This is not damage, but instead a minor manufacturer’s flaw (the stone around that recessed brass banding is smooth, not coarse — see 12th photo).
Retains the manufacturer’s label on the reverse.
