“Femina el Fera” Figural Studio Stoneware Vase / Candleholder Signed Polk
$900.00Bulbous-form figural ceramic vase / candleholder. Marvelous textural elements: an unglazed slab with a hole for a candle or flowers was applied to an orb-shaped base with a woman’s face on the front and a beastly figure on the back (hence, the incised script on the front ‘Femina el Fera,” translating from Catalan to mean “Female Beast”). Intriguing piece, with nice patina / wear from age (namely craze lines, as shown).
Incised “Polk” signature present to the underside.

Stoneware vase with light pink surface on one side, pale gray on the other. Interesting compositional elements present with a heavily textured, contrasting top trim and differing patterns on each side (abstract floral decorations to both sides). Signed “Pollack ’76.”
Think crack present, as shown, resulting from the kiln (no damage to note).

American Studio Ceramic Sgraffito Decorative Bowl
Circa 1960s/70s American Studio ceramic bowl in attractive light blue and beige. Sgraffito squiggle pattern throughout reveals the deep brown base color. Coke can is used to illustrate scale (the piece is relatively small measuring H: 3″ x Diameter: 5.25″).
No issues to note; bowl is in excellent, vintage condition
Crude Studio Stoneware Vase with Handle Signed “Pollack 71”
1971 Pollack handled-vase featuring a slate surface with swaths of beige and brown and blue decoration. Crude by design enhanced by the unglazed finish. Incised, partial signature present to the underside, but appears to read, “Pollack 71” (based on the legible letters / numbers along with other similar works we have by the artist).
Very good, vintage condition with some white smudges / flecks in spots, as shown.

Dense Asymmetrical Stoneware Charger Signed Pollack, 1976
Asymmetrical stoneware charger / sculpture utilizing multiple techniques and textures to create a truly unique and substantial work that is both crude by design and refined in execution.
The matte glazes in attractive color combinations of green, blue, mauve, taupe, pink, and tan are contrasted by a central swath of white with blue geometric shape detail (the palette is influenced by Japanese Imari porcelain).
Excellent, vintage condition.
