19th Century American Folk Art Hand Painted Poplar Sewing / Decorative Box

19th century American carved poplar sewing / jewelry box with hand painted floral, leaf, and bird decoration throughout. Spots, scratches and edge fissures / loss of veneer to the corners (expected wear for its age). There is also a split in the wood and a small dent to the side, as shown. Remains in fine, functional condition.

Mid-Century American Modern Stained Oak Extendable Sewing Stand

Inspired by a Norwegian design by A Strømmen Bruk Hamar, this American version is stained oak with ebonized slats, pulls, turned legs, and a bentwood handle. Very well constructed with dovetailed details and an accordion-style extension.
When the box is fully extended, there are two cube storage compartments per side and an open, undivided compartment on the bottom, offering ample space for sewing / knitting accessories.
The oak has been conservatively refinished; the ebony paint is original. Light wear remains (few light scuffs to the wood).

Minimalist design with simple dual-door construction fitted with deeply sculpted oblong pulls.
Conservatively refinished condition but few scuffs remain, as shown, along with writing to the inside of one of the doors.
