Illuminated Glass World Globe on Mahogany Stand by Edward Wormley for Dunbar

Mahogany sculptural globe stand supported by brass sabots originally designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar in 1953. The globe itself is a 16″ Rand McNally Terrestrial globe composed of paper gores over glass with a brass meridian. Its estimated date of production is between 1958 and 1959 (United Arab Republic, Ghana, and French North Africa are all present).
Very good, vintage condition with light soiling / small spots of paper loss to the globe itself, tarnish to the unpolished brass meridian and feet and light wear to the newly refinished mahogany, as shown.
Measures: Height: 34″ x Diameter: 20.5″.
