Painted details in De Simone’s signature vibrant colors of yellow, red, green, and blue (both dark and light). This piece’s aesthetic was heavily influenced by Pablo Picasso, whom De Simone greatly admired. It is an amalgam of Italian folk art (simplicity, inaccuracy and crudeness of subject) with modernism in the use of color and shape.

Several Italian artists, including Giovanni De Simone, by whom these pieces were influenced, used the cubist aesthetic of Pablo Picasso as a base and created an amalgam of Italian folk art (simplicity, inaccuracy and crudeness of subject) with modernism in the use of color and shape.
