Majestic Odd Fellows Carved and Painted Armchair

$3,400.00

This magnificent Odd Fellows Fraternal Lodge ‘throne’ (circa 1910-1920) with carved and painted decoration throughout is a fine example of early 20th century Folk Art. Nice use of decorative dragon and eagle motifs contrasted by an otherwise Primitive, simplistic design. There is a split to the wood near one of the eagle’s heads, which has not been repaired or filled (result of the wood becoming brittle from age). However, the eagle’s head is sturdy / sound and is not at risk of coming detached. The seat has been newly reupholstered in an olive green velvet.

Pair of Folk Art Hand-Painted Mounted Deer Heads

These mounted deer heads are nice examples of post-war folk art. They are comprised of real deer antlers attached to hand-carved and painted heads, which are primarily pale blue and turquoise. There is paint loss, but a hint of the original red paint remains on the mount and ears. They are sold as a pair, despite there being slight differences, namely in size (one deer’s antlers are longer than the other’s). The larger deer is: 42.75″ H x 13.25″ D x 23″ W. The smaller deer is: 39″ H x 12.75″ D x 18.5″ W.
