Danish Cabinet Maker Custom Oak Sideboard

Handsome, stained-oak Danish sideboard expertly crafted by a skilled cabinet maker, evidenced by the superior quality of the piece. Each of the two cabinet doors has a unique key that unlocks its corresponding door (the keys are not interchangeable). The doors open to reveal open storage divided by a fully adjustable shelf on the right side and four double drawers on the left. The dovetailing on the light oak drawers in conjunction with the execution of the design is sublime. Each of the four drawers has its own secondary drawer (tray) that glides effortlessly on a separate built-in track and can open independently of its corresponding drawer. The back is unfinished. The hardware is solid German brass. Refinished condition, but light wear remains (few surface surfaces along with one patch of blotching, and few nicks to sides, as shown). Overall, very good, vintage condition. Measures: H 33.5″ x D 19″ x L 49.25″ Cabinet section interior dimensions: H 21″ x D 17.5″ x L 31.25″ The removable / adjustable shelf as positioned has 10.75″ of space above and 10.25″ of space below. Early Oak Folding Grocery / Shopping Cart

$850.00

Charming oak collapsible shopping cart on caster wheels (ca. late 1930s/early 1940s, USA).
This early version, inspired by a folding chair, was developed by Sylvan Goldman in 1936 as a solution to the cumbersome shopping basket. It not only took up little room when collapsed and stacked, but also accommodated two baskets in two holders on the frame – one above and one below, allowing shoppers to buy more without struggling with carrying a heavy basket.
In a modern context, the uses are unlimited – this cart can be used for holding artist’s supplies/palettes, as a bar/tea/snack table, or a bathroom caddy with the addition of small trays.
Very good, vintage condition with wear/paint losses consistent with age and use. Remains a visually appealing work of folk art that is structurally sound and usable.

Hans Wegner for GETAMA Sofa in Oak and Velvet

This four-seat sofa (model GE 236/4) was designed by Hans Wegner for GETAMA in the 1950s and is composed of a solid oak slatted-back frame. The cushions in Kravet ‘gun-metal gray’ velvet are new, but retain the original springs with added foam for support, and the ‘Ryghynde’ fabric tags. The GETAMA branding is present on the underside. All the cushions have zippers, so future replacement of the upholstery while keeping the springs intact is easily accomplished. Additionally, the armrests are removable from the frame. Since its inception in 1899, GETAMA was known as a mattress manufacturer. Keeping with the trend even after the company evolved into furniture manufacturing, comfort continued to be at the forefront of their design. For example, within the cushions of this piece there are miniature box springs with the cushion support system comprised of linked metal strapping for maximum comfort and longevity (much like a well-made mattress).
Measures: H: 30.5″ x W: 93″ x D: 29″ x Seat height: 16″
Condition Notes: Excellent. Upholstery and added foam are brand new; frame has been refinished.
