1940s Arts and Crafts Enamel on Copper Dish by Serge Nekrasoff

$150.00

Russian-born artist, Serge Nekrassoff (1895-1995), relocated to Darien, CT in the 1930s where he primarily made enamel works using pewter. By the ’40s, with pewter in short-supply, he turned to copper for a base for his enamel art. This decorative bowl (circa late 1940s) features Nekrassoff’s signature solid color (green, in this example) with a white center and splatter pattern throughout. The decorative, beaded copper rim adds a nice contrast to the relatively simple design of the enamel pattern itself.
Inscribed ‘Nekrassoff’ signature present to the underside.
