Often co-attributed to Gio Ponti, who also designed for Singer & Sons, but no such claim has been confirmed.
Features a shallow pencil drawer to the right and three drawers to the left (two drawers and a bottom filing cabinet drawer).
Sleek design with sharp lines and incredible wood grain occupying a small footprint (H: 29″ x L: 53.5″ x D: 26″).
Retains the “M. Singer & Sons New York Chicago” manufacturer’s label to the top drawer.
Very good, conservatively refinished condition with a couple of small, light surface dings, scuffs to the pencil drawer, and edge wear to the three drawer bank, as shown.

Gio Ponti for BNL Walnut and Brass Writing Table / Desk
Iconic writing table designed in the 1940s by Gio Ponti for Schirolli to furnish BNL (Banca Nazionale del Lavoro) offices across Italy.
This early 1950s model was acquired directly from the Rome Bissolati BNL headquarters (Ponti also used this design for the University of Padua).
Composed of a walnut frame with laminate top, dual dovetailed drawers and brass pulls/sabots, all further supported by a lower stretcher.
Very fine, original condition with warm patina and natural wear from use (few surface and frame scuffs / one small spot of laminate loss along with tarnish to the unpolished brass, as shown).
We have a total of five of these desks, all obtained from Rome Bissolai BNL. Listing is for the single desk pictured.
There is a faded patch to one of the leg’s interiors where the BNL foil label once resided and has since fallen off.

Gio Ponti Oak and Leather Stool with Brass Sabots
1950s Gio Ponti stool from the University of Brescia in oak with original brass sabots and plum leather seat. Wear consistent with age (spots / wear to the leather, tarnish to unpolished brass, and general wear to oak). Given the importance of the piece and provenance, stool is being presented in original condition. Presents well in said condition.

Vintage Italian contour brass frame wall mirror with beaded border details (ca. 1950s).
Overall, in very good, vintage condition. Polished brass shows natural patina and minimal, general wear. Glass shows one small dark patch (foxing) at at on the left bottom edge, as photographed (naturally occurring imperfection from age/use — glass still provides a clear reflection).

Italian Modernist Ramati Shield Mirror by Vetreria Bonardi
Specchi Ramati “Copper Mirrors” wall mirror composed of a brass shield-form frame with wooden backing produced by Vetreria Bonardi in Rome (ca. 1960s, Italy).
As the label suggests, the glazier used the formula of French designer, Roger Duprey, to make the glass, which is a method analogous to that of metalsmithing (hence “Ramati,” or “Copper” being the name of this particular line of mirrors). Though, the glass bears no tint or resemblance to copper.
Brass shows some spotting/discoloration consistent with age/use. Glass is in excellent, vintage condition.

Pair of Gio Ponti for Casa E Giardino club chairs newly reupholstered in Kravet butterscotch velvet (36111-416) with button-tufted detail (ca. 1938, Italy). Sculptural form with spacious seat and elegant curvature to the frame.
Excellent, restored condition with new upholstery/foam. The feet were left original and show good age/patina consistent with period and use.

Pair of Isa Bergamo Sculptural Petite Club Chairs Attributed to Gio Ponti
$7,800.00Low and petite Isa Bergamo arm/club chairs attributed to Gio Ponti characterized by pronounced/exaggeratedly sculpted arms in chocolate vinyl with button tufted details (ca. 1950s, Italy).
Original spring construction present with the frame supported by hand-painted gilt metal feet. Seat is not cushy, as the springs don’t offer the same soft support as foam would.
Vinyl upholstery was a later addition and is in very, good, vintage condition with a few minor scuffs, as shown. Feet show minor gilt loss/light wear.
Elegant, versatile design and small scale, suitable for both living room and boudoir use. Note that these are not only small in size but low to the ground (4.75″ height between floor and frame).
