Incredible folk art box (circa 1930s) with routed cubes, painted in alternating silver and black. Hinged box-top opens easily and features a single, brass pull. Process and style are reminiscent of tramp art, but the geometric pattern additionally evokes a modernist element. A charming piece with patina, wear and loss commensurate with age (paint loss, missing cubes in places).
