Finn Juhl Teak Lounge Chairs Model FD-136 for France & Daverkosen
$16,500.00Pair of 1950s Danish modern lounge chairs (model FD 136) designed by Finn Juhl. Early examples produced by France & Daverkosen, the predecessor to France & Son.
Boasts broad, floating back rests, wide seats, and elegantly sculpted teak arm rests. All patinated brass hardware (pegs which connect the seat and back to the teak frame) is original. Efficient design maximizing comfort while maintaining a relatively small footprint.
Navy wool upholstery is original and has been cleaned. Very nice, vintage condition with only minor wear to the original fabric.
Back stretchers retain the France & Daverkosen “FD Made in Denmark” stamp and the “John Stuart Inc. New York / Grand Rapids” medallions (signifying the original retailer).

Mid-Century Italian Modern Tufted Mohair and Chrome Lounge Chairs
$6,400.00Luxurious pair of Mid-Century Modern arm chairs with polished chrome frames and tufted back and seat (reminiscent of the flat bar lounge chairs by Milo Baughman but an Italian design, as indicated by the label).
Elegant profile with sharp, slanted lines and a low-slung seat.
Recovered in a blood-orange or coral mohair with new foam (the last eight images most accurately relay the color, which is slightly more orange than pink).
Chrome, which has been cleaned and polished, shows wear (scuffs, as shown, particularly to the arm rests). Only really visible from certain angles – pair remains in good, vintage shape with wear consistent with age and use.
One chair retains the “Made in Italy” label; the other shows evidence of its prior presence.

Harvey Probber cube arm/lounge chairs resting on walnut plinth bases which extend out to from vertical uprights, bracketing the back of the frames for added support/style.
Luxurious pair newly reupholstered in a cream Kravet bouclé (36120-1) adding an attractive contrast to the rich walnut tone. The last image is the swatch from Kravet’s site – the upholstery appears pure white or off-white, depending on the light.

Pair of 1950s Floating Walnut Lounge Chairs by Jens Risom
Jens Risom lounge chairs supported by walnut bases, circa 1953. They are relatively small in scale and boast clean, sharp lines. The frame’s gray wool upholstery is original, featuring a back button-tufted detail. The cushions have been recovered in a dark charcoal chenille (a shade darker than the frame to add an attractive two-tone contrast). Additionally, seat cushion foam has been replaced, and the walnut has been refinished.
Minor wear to the original upholstery; presents well and can be left as is.

Beautifully aged leather is original and shows wear / patina (scuffs to armrests, back corners and general patina throughout). Wood has been professionally refinished.

Pair of Danish Modern Lounge Chairs in Cinnabar Leather
Nicely worn cinnabar / cranberry leather lounge chairs (Denmark, circa 1970s) composed of two stained mahogany ‘block’ feet in the front and two caster wheels in the back (‘wheelbarrow’ design allows for easy mobility).
Leather is nicely distressed with heavy patina throughout, particularly to the arms. One crack / tear to leather on one of the armrests along with a square faded patch (these originally came from Denmark in a container and were given inventory labels, one of which left a fade patch on one of the arms roughly 1″ x 1″). Foam and springs are completely sound and, combined with the perfectly aged leather, provide tremendous comfort and support.

Composed of a deeply sculpted bent-teakwood back and seat mounted to a beech frame offering a ‘two-tone’ contrast with the lightness of the beech and the rich color / grain of the teak. Nice, restored condition with only minor wear remaining. Branded “Made In Denmark” to underside.

Pair of Diminutive French Leather Club Chairs
These small club chairs were designed in France between the mid-1920s through the early 1930s and are composed of leather frames and velvet cushions (an upholstery contrast that was typical for the period). However, the cushions were likely updated in the mid-20th century. ‘Mustache’ design tops with intricate stud / nailhead decoration throughout in both metal and brass. Designed to be both narrow and low, these chairs are intentionally form-fitting and comfortably snug. Springs and frame remain intact and effective in terms of structural support. Beautiful patina and nice wear commensurate with age. Interior seat space is W 19″ x D 23″ Arm height 20.5″ Seat height (with cushion) 15″ Seat height (without cushion) 11″.
