French Deco Leather and Mohair Daybed

$2,200.00

This versatile French deco daybed (circa late 1930s) can be converted from a bench to daybed, when the arms are removed and reoriented into the appropriate frame fittings. The stained mahogany trim complements both the rust-colored mohair cushion and the dark coral leather beautifully. The piece retains its original leather and mohair cushion (a typical upholstery contrast of the Deco period). Unique feature to the piece is the storage compartment under the seat, which can be accessed when the cushion is removed. There is one old repair to a section of the mahogany trim (not visible when this side is positioned in the back). There are also small spots of loss to the mohair cushion throughout and expected age to the leather. One of the adjustable sides rests slightly lower than the other, by design (the higher side was intended for the headrest, while the lower, the foot). Overall, this piece is in good, vintage condition with expected wear commensurate with age. Length when fully extended (as daybed): 82″ Length with arms up (as bench): 52″.
