“Femina el Fera” Figural Studio Stoneware Vase / Candleholder Signed Polk
$900.00Bulbous-form figural ceramic vase / candleholder. Marvelous textural elements: an unglazed slab with a hole for a candle or flowers was applied to an orb-shaped base with a woman’s face on the front and a beastly figure on the back (hence, the incised script on the front ‘Femina el Fera,” translating from Catalan to mean “Female Beast”). Intriguing piece, with nice patina / wear from age (namely craze lines, as shown).
Incised “Polk” signature present to the underside.

Blackened Brass Bear Candleholder/Figurine by Walter Bosse and Herta Baller
$200.00Mid-Century Viennese bear figurine designed by Walter Bosse and Herta Baller as part of “Black Golden Line” (Austria, ca. 1950).
Composed of solid brass patinated in a black finish, which is then polished off in places to reveal only the brass details of edges and nose.
Can be used as a candleholder for a small, round votive, ashtray, or a stand-alone decorative object.
Very small size: H: 1″ x D: 1.5″ x L: 2.63″ (orange ping-pong ball measuring 1.5″ in diameter is used to illustrate both the scale of the bear and size of candle the ‘cradle’ can accommodate).
Very good, vintage with light wear/patina consistent with age/use.
Retains the “Made in Austria” tag to the reverse.
Danish Modern Seven-Arm Brass Candelabrum by Svend Aage Holm Sørensen

Tarnish to the unpolished candle holders and a few spots of tarnish to the base. Overall, very fine, vintage condition.

Enrique Garcel Lacquer, Resin and Brass Candlesticks
$450.00Glamorous pair of Hollywood Regency-Style Candlesticks made by Enrique Garcel (Colombia circa late 1970s – early 1980s). They are composed of organic material wrapped in a glass-like resin with solid brass accents. Given the handmade nature of these items, there is slight color and pattern variation to each stick. However, they were made to be a pair. A truly unique set boasting impressive scale, intricate pattern, and unusual use of materials.
There is patina and natural wear, commensurate with age and use. However, we opted to keep these unrestored (unpolished), as Garcel candlesticks are scarce, particularly in original condition.
Retain the Enrique Garcel Colombia tag.

Versatile piece with two separate holders of varying heights at either end – one is short, designed for a candle, while the other is long for accommodating flowers.
Very good, vintage condition with scuffs to top and bottom, as shown, along with a tiny fleck to one side (barely visible as seen in the seventh picture with the transparent side facing front).

Mid Century Italian Modern San Marino Fat Lava Ceramic and Enamel Candle Holder
$120.00Circa 1960s Italian ceramic candle holder produced in San Marino (a small, independent republic within Italy). Features a highly-textured ‘fat lava’ glaze, one of San Marino’s signature finishes. ‘Effetto Lacca’ (enamel effect) was incorporated in the hand-decoration of the piece and depicts a female face, whose hair and neck are adorned with colorful decorations.
Striking piece boasting vibrant colors and modernist form. Few spots of glaze loss, as shown. Otherwise, in excellent, vintage condition.
Works as a single candleholder, given its relatively large size: H: 11″ x D: 3″ x L: 4.25″
Also works nicely as a tabletop decorative object.
Signed ‘Made in Italy’ to the base.
Mid-Century Modern Sascha Brastoff Cast Resin Vases / Candle Holders

Three smaller holders in green, amber and blue and one large holder in blue. Marks on the pieces are actually smaller pieces of resin in the cast (a product of the resin casting process). Etched signature to underside ‘Sascha B.’
