Danish Teak and Rosewood Side Table Designed for the Rigspolitiet Headquarters

$1,200.00

Open-front teak side table designed for the Rigspolitiet Headquarters in Copenhagen. Beginning in 1918, Aage Rafn, Hans Jørgen Kampmann, Christian Kampmann, Holger Jacobsen, and Anton Frederiksen designed and constructed the Rigspolitiet Headquarters (including furniture and lighting for the interior). This trend continued later in the 20th Century, and pieces were designed by other notable Danish designers for the headquarters. The designer of the table is unknown, but it is stamped to the underside ‘TILHØRER RIGSPOLITIET,’ evidence that it was made for the Rigspolitiet, albeit likely in the 1960s.
Diminutive piece, ideal for storing papers / files. Feet are rosewood adding a nice detail to an otherwise minimal piece.
Excellent, refinished condition; only minor wear remains.
