Vintage Bausch & Lomb FFS8-6612 Army Physician’s Compound Microscope With Box

Bausch & Lomb of Rochester, NY compound microscope originally patented in 1915 (this is likely a 1930s model). Earlier models were identified as FFS8-612, but this model is numbered both 121530 and 88449 and originally retailed at F H Thomas of Boston, MA.
Used in the Medical Department of the U.S. Army (as inscribed). Also, retains a “Dept of Agriculture” label with “PI 25 1817″ to the underside.
Features a triple nose piece, japanned iron horseshoe base, swivel mirror, and polished brass details. There are three achromatic objectives on the microscope marked 16mm, 4mm, and 1.9mm, respectively.
Does not include stage clips or extra accessories. Appears to be in working order. Microscope itself is in good, vintage condition with light wear consistent with age and use (general wear / small scuffs to the brass).
Includes original wooden box, which shows splitting, scratches, and wear from use. Does not include the key for lock, so door only stays partially closed at all times.
