Mid-Century Walnut Filing Cabinet Unit / Chest of Drawers by Steelcase

Walnut filing cabinet / credenza manufactured by Steelcase (ca. 1950s, USA). Known for the incorporation of steel in their products, Steelcase pieces are extremely heavy and durable (not delicate and flimsy in the slightest) and were designed for every day rugged home and office use.
Composed of eight (four small, four large) walnut fronted and steel-lined drawers with beveled edge pulls. The absence of ornamental drawer pulls enhances the modernist aesthetic with clean lines and simple design.
The piece is fully refinished, though some surface scuffs and more considerably gouges to one profile remain (the deep gouges are only present on one side). Remains a stylish yet practical piece designed and built to last.
The overall dimensions are: H: 29.25″ x L: 70.75″ x D: 19.5″ (closed) / 37″ (with drawers open)
The interior space of the top four shorter drawers measures: H: 4.5″ x L: 12″ x D: 15.75″
