Hand Painted Italian Ceramic Pitcher by Marco Prinzi for La Musa

Vintage (circa 1970s, Italy) La Musa pitcher depicting a traditional Sicilian village scene. Originally founded by Marco Prinzi in 1953, Ceramiche La Musa remains a notable manufacturer of quality ceramics for home use.
This piece’s aesthetic was heavily influenced by Prinzi’s contemporary, Giovanni De Simone. Both drew influence from the cubist style of Pablo Picasso.
Nice piece of Sicilian folk art (in its simplicity, inaccuracy and crudeness of subject) contrasted by a modernist blend of vibrant colors.
