Folk Art Amish Farmstead Scene by Dolores Hackenberger

Folk Art painter, Dolores Hackenberger (American, b.1930 – ) was fondly referred to as “the Pennsylvania Dutch Country Grandma Moses.”
In her many decades living among the Amish in Southeastern Pennsylvania, she paid tribute to her neighbors and the Amish culture at large by painting portraits depicting their daily life and traditions.
This oil on canvas titled “Amish Farm” (Lancaster, PA, 1976) is a charming depiction of a pastoral / farmstead scene peppered with farm animals and Amish farmers working the land. Masterful work of folk art, rich in both color and spirit.
