Executive Teak Desk by K.B. Simonsen for Faarup Møbelfabrik

Large teak executive desk model #12 designed in the 1960s by K.B. Simonsen for Faarup Møbelfabrik.
Though highly regarded in Europe, Simonsen’s furniture was rarely exported to the United States, since it was produced in relatively small quantity.
Exemplifying form and function with quality craftsmanship, exquisite grain and modernist form but also offering ample storage space and a sturdy, durable work surface.
Finished on both sides: the front provides two black laminate “plates” / surfaces (one on the top left and one on the right) above three drawers to the left and three to the right. The second drawer on the right features a fixed paper / pen teakwood caddy along with extra drawer space.
The back is composed of a central open storage compartment with a single, adjustable shelf flanked by two smaller cubbies, each with fixed shelves (one fixed shelf to the left, three to the right). The hinged doors to those two cubbies use the same key as the drawers on the opposite side (includes single key).
Restored condition; only a few small scuffs remain, as shown.
