American Folk Art Carved Fish Decoy

American Folk Art hand-carved and painted fish decoy with a fishing line in its mouth (ca. 1940s, USA). Natural patina, crazing, and paint loss present – the red base coat can be seen in spots where the white or black paint has peeled. Remains a very fine example of the one of the earliest forms of folk art.
H: 3″ x D: 1.5″ x L: 11.75″ / 14″ including fishing line.
