Alvar Aalto for Artek Birch Dining or Writing Table

This rectangular table was designed by Alvar Aalto for Artek in the late 1940s. This example features the signature Aalto bent birch L-shaped legs, and can be used as a desk, dining or game table. It was used as an artist’s work station (originally owned by the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY) and shows considerable wear from said use. However, it remains structurally sound. Unsigned.

Condition Notes: Distressed. No structural damage, only considerable surface wear from use as an artist’s station.
