Mid-Century Italian Modern Riccione Fat Lava Ceramic and Enamel Vase

$85.00

Circa 1950s Italian ceramic vase depicting a boat scene in Riccione, an Italian town on the Adriatic coast. Features a highly-textured ‘fat lava’ or malto roccia (rock) glaze, a signature finish commonly associated with San Marino (a small, independent republic within Italy) ceramicists. ‘Effetto Lacca’ (enamel effect) was incorporated in the hand-decoration. This piece was likely made by a San Marino ceramicist as a souvenir for a hotel or shop in Riccione.
