Italian Modernist Teak and Leather Bench by Inge and Luciano Rubino

$9,800.00

Bench designed by Inge and Luciano Rubino in 1964 for Apec Italy. Of the few pieces of furniture the Danish/Italian couple designed, this bench is the most iconic and coveted.
Long version composed of slatted teakwood with double molded-leather ‘wave’ seat and black enameled-steel legs (the orientation of the legs is different at each end by design). The teakwood (largely employed in Danish/Scandinavian design) coupled with the form of the piece (which is aesthetically Italian Modernist) yields a perfect marriage reflecting each respective designer’s background.
New gray leather upholstery. Teak has been refinished. Only light wear remains (namely, a ding to the slatted section, as shown).
