Spectacular 1960s square enamel on copper dish by Los Angeles, CA enamelist, Myrna Eaton measuring 9.5″ square. This work, part of her ‘jewels on copper’ series, incorporates fusing powdered glass to copper to create a beautiful work of enamel art. The decoration, an asymmetrical, abstract smattering of shapes, almost has a jewel-like appearance with rich luster / sheen (hence the ‘jewels on copper’ title). Composed of bold blues and purples, heavily textured with a linear pattern throughout. There is some light crazing, that can easily be confused for the ‘veins’ that intersect with the pattern.
An exceptional piece of enamel that can be used for serving or purely decorative purposes.
Does not include stand.
Signed ‘Myrna Eaton’ to the underside.
