1964 Madeline S. Jossem enamel on copper entitled “City at Dusk.” The work is an abstraction of a city scene at dusk with an attractive, bold color palette. Retains the original frame with black velvet trim.

Jossem (born in Sarre-Union, France) was a holocaust survivor turned acclaimed painter, writer, sculptor and professor. There remains a scholarship in her name at the Art Institute of Chicago where she previously taught.
The French government awarded her ‘Le Chevalier dans lorde des Arts et Lettres’ in 1996 for her contribution to the arts.
