Vintage Thonet Ebonized Bentwood and Rattan Rocking Chair

$1,600.00

Iconic, ca. 1920s Thonet rocking chair Model #10 (in 1923, Thonet was forced to merge with Kohn-Mundus to form Mundus-Allgemeine- Handels-und Industrie-Gesellschaft, and production was moved to their factories mainly in Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Hungary).
Composed of a steam-bent ebonized beechwood frame contrasting nicely with the natural, woven cane seat and back.
Designed with elaborately curved/scrolled details, supportive arm rests and a slightly reclined, tall backrest, the piece exudes stylish elegance without compromising comfort.
The cane was replaced ca. 1970s and shows two spots of loss to the backrest, as photographed.
The ebonized frame has been lightly refinished and shows wear consistent with use/age (scuffs/few gouges, as shown).
Overall, in structurally sound, good, vintage condition.
