Vintage Standing Replogle World Globe on Tubular Brass Base
Vintage Replogle globe supported by a tubular brass standing base (ca. 1980, USA). Globe floats in the brass cradle, its view unobstructed by the meridian bar which can be manually moved but does not stay positioned upright by design.
12″ relief-style globe itself is composed of paper gores over board. Dated between 1979 and 1983 given the presence of Zimbabwe, Upper Volta, and The Ivory Coast.
There are small patches of paper loss to the globe, as shown, along with patina/light tarnish to the brass. Overall, a lovely decorative object that is as stylish as it is instructional that remains in very good, original condition.
Often mis-attributed to Paul Mccobb, given its use in his product advertising and the similarity in style to some of his brass table bases.
Globe itself is marked: Replogle Globes, Inc LeRoy M. Tolman Cartographer
