Vintage French Bulbous Mouth Blown Glass Demijohn / Carboy in Dark Olive Green
$450.00
Graceful antique French demijohn / carboy originally used for transporting wine (ca. early 19th Century, France).
Composed of mouth blown glass in a palette that registers as dark olive green or brown, depending on the lighting, exhibiting trapped air bubbles within the glass itself. The sheared lip had previously been smoothed out to create an even, smooth surface.
Petite, bulbous form, measuring roughly 9.5″ Diameter x 14.5″H.
Glass has been meticulously cleaned, though wear (heavy in areas) remain – patches of exterior scratches throughout. Both large and small air bubbles present, as shown. Presents well, despite scuffs/general wear.
