Tom V. Schmitt Geometric Acrylic on Canvas Color Field Study
“Number 128″ geometric acrylic on canvas by esteemed Miami-based artist, Tom V. Schmitt (1966).
Schmitt’s work is represented in private collections and museums around the world, including the Brooklyn Museum and Bass Museum in Miami.
Intriguing color field study with attractive palette and unique Op Art composition of geometric forms — lines, squares, circles. Schmitt’s later works are computer-manipulated, whereas this early example was fully hand-executed.
There is one small pin prick hole in the center circle (not a flaw, per se, but noteworthy) along with light crazing, as shown.
