Pair of French Bentwood and Steel ‘Compass’ Chairs after Pierre Guariche
These elegant side chairs are comprised of a deeply curved walnut bentwood back and walnut seat anchored by enameled steel compass legs. The floating backrest is connected to the steel by screws, which are concealed in the interior by metal caps. Reminiscent of designs by both Allan Gould and Pierre Guariche, but unattributed. Seat depth 16.5″, seat height 16.5″, seat width 17.75″.
