Mid-Twentieth Century Op Art Serigraph by Shalom Gabay

Op Art serigraph by acclaimed graphic artist, Shalom Gabay (ca. 1970s, California, USA). Intriguing geometric art work with concentric circle and square motif in attractive rust red and beige palette. Ogee edge frame is brushed steel, which shows scuffs from age; serigraph itself is in excellent, vintage condition.

The Van Amstel bio on the back reads:
Mr. Gabay was born in French Morroco 1942. At a young age his family moved to Israel where he first became interest in graphic design. He later moved to France to complete his studies at the university “Art Decoratif De Nice”
He worked in the “Atelier De Lithographie” under the auspices of Pierre Chave, one of the leading lithographers in Europe. He has the opportunity of studying with Chagall, Miro, Max Ernest and others.
The artist has received much acclaim for his original graphic design.
Mr. Gabay now makes his home in Los Angeles, California, working on hardedge, geometrical and modern designs.
