Mid-Century French Lucite and Steel Chaise Longue Prototype

$9,977.00

This remarkable chaise longue (circa 1950 France) marries elements of Machine Age and Hollywood Regency Styles to form one sculpturally elegant masterpiece. From the collection of a renowned New York City architect who purchased the chaise in 1998 from Miguel Saco. This piece was loosely attributed to Marc du Plantier by a prominent auction house, but no documentation supports the claim. Regardless, this is a one of kind prototype designed by a true visionary with an exceptional sense of style and composition. The removable leather head rest was added to the piece when it was sold in 1998 (it is not original to the chaise).

Base alone measures:  H: 13″ x D: 22.5″ x L: 36″

Condition: Lucite has minimal wear (slight patina in a few areas, that does not detract from the clarity of the lucite).
Nickel plated steel base shows wear (partially by design, partially from age).

H: 39″ x W: 56.25″ x D: 21.3″ x Seat Height: 14″
