Dolores Hackenberger Folk Art Amish Farm Scene
Folk Art painter, Dolores Hackenberger (American, b.1930 – ) was fondly referred to as “the Pennsylvania Dutch Country Grandma Moses.”
In her many decades living among the Amish in Southeastern Pennsylvania, she paid tribute to her neighbors and the Amish culture at large by painting portraits depicting their daily life and traditions.
This oil on canvas (ca. 1970s) is a charming depiction of a pastoral scene with children playing and animals grazing. Masterful work of folk art, rich in both color and spirit.
