C.S. Hammond & Co. 1950s Inflatable Tabletop Globe on Metal Stand
Hammond’s International Globe (ca. 1955) composed of an inflatable globe on painted metal cradle. Images and font are large in scale and very legible. As durable as a beach ball, this vinyl globe is inflatable / deflatable by means of a locking port mechanism at the top of the globe (clockwise lock / counter clock unlock). 3-footed base in black painted metal is nicely contrasted by painted gold ‘ball’ feet. Paint loss to the base, as photographed; globe itself is excellent. Listed separately is the floor version.
