Antique French Boutique Counter in Stained and Painted Pine
Shop counter composed of a stained pine plank top and beige painted frame with four drawers above three storage sections (ca. late 19th Century, France).
Versatile piece with ample storage options, perfect for kitchen island or dry bar use in addition to its intended shop display purpose.
Surface wear consistent with age and use (general wear, edge loss and a warped plank, as shown, causing slight surface sloping).
Drawers slide smoothly, and the piece remains functional and structurally stable, despite a subtly uneven surface.
Beige paint is original and has yellowed slightly over time (see second photo for accurate color representation). These are also areas of paint loss and crazing as shown.
Belonged to a prominent New York City painter who acquired the piece from a gallery in Cambridge, MA.
