Aesthetic Movement Faux Tortoise Shell Bamboo and Grasscloth Etagere / Bookshelf

Antique Aesthestic Movement/Victorian-Style bookshelf/etagere/curio shelf (ca. 19th Century, England).
Composed of a burnt/scorched bamboo/faux-tortoise shell finish frame supporting four wooden shelves with grasscloth surfaces. Elegant fan-back arch form surmounting bamboo vertical and diagonal supports to reinforce the back.
Narrow shelving unit providing substantial storage while occupying a relatively small footprint. Ideal for foyer/entryway use.
Good, original condition with natural patina throughout along with losses to the grasscloth, as shown. There is a small cut out present to the back of the bottom shelf, presumably to accommodate an outlet or other wall protrusion.
Structurally sound – piece has been restored to reinforce stability.
