Pair of Scandinavian Modern Sculptural Walnut and Leather Petite Lounge Chairs

$7,500.00

Pair of diminutive Scandinavian Modern lounge/armchairs (ca. 1960s).
Composed of sculptural walnut frames supporting compact seats newly reupholstered in green leather, distressed by design, with diamond-pattern button tufted fronts and brass nail bordered backs
Thoughtfully designed and expertly crafted with deeply carved walnut arms above a lower upholstered armrest option, curved banded backrests, and spindle-form legs, enhancing the modernist aesthetic of an otherwise modest form.
Excellent, vintage condition – frames have been refinished, chairs have been reupholstered, and the foam has been changed. Only a few minor scuffs remain to the wood, and the leather shows a line to one of the seats that is a naturally occurring flaw within the leather itself.

Pair of Vintage New England Solid Walnut Nightstands

Pair of solid walnut nightstands with linear sculptural pulls designed and manufactured on custom order by Vermont Furniture Designs circa early 1980s. Each chest is mounted to two solid walnut ‘block’ bases, and there are two solid walnut ‘bars’ (one in the front and one in the back) that directly support the frame and intersect with the legs for added support and decoration. The slab-leg construction gives the stands a ‘floating’ appearance, as there is sufficient open space between the two bases.
The construction, quality of materials, and master craftsmanship of these pieces are akin to master woodworkers from the New Hope School (including Wharton Esherick and George Nakashima). An heirloom-quality pair designed and constructed to last.
Listed separately is the corresponding chest of drawers.
