Susana and the Elders, a story from the Book of Daniel, has been interpreted by artists throughout the ages, most notably Rembrandt. This is a modern adaptation, titled simply ‘Susan and the Elders,’ giving the work a contemporary context.
The female figure in the work is a white stencil, lacking all interior definition, which perhaps symbolizes the lifelessness she is left with after the atrocities she suffered.
