First Edition Charles Pollack for Knoll 657 ‘Sling Chair’ in Black Leather

Iconic Charles Pollack for Knoll ‘657’ Sling Chair designed in 1960 and manufactured from 1964-1979. Early example, as evidenced by the ‘Knoll Associates Inc. 320 Park Avenue New York, NY’ tag (Knoll relocated to Fifth Avenue in 1970). Suspended on the frame is a shaped black hide leather back / seat sling finished with a capeskin seat pad for added comfort (pad stays in place on the sling via four, original velcro tabs) .
Original condition with wear consistent with age / use. The leather is beautifully aged and shows creasing / general wear. There is slight peeling to black finish of one of the arms and a considerable amount of wear / pitting to the chrome steel front and back bar.
