Vintage Cram’s Political Terrestrial Illuminated Light-Up Globe on Mahogany Base
$475.00Vintage 16″ Physical Political Terrestrial Light-up Globe by The George F. Cram Company, Inc (Indianapolis, IN, ca. 1980 – Upper Volta, Ivory Coast and Zimbabwe all present).
Composed of a pasteboard 16″ globe with ocean finishes in an attractive dark turquoise and land masses in yellow, beige, pink, green, and peach.
Features a metal Gyro-matic mounting with numbered cast-metal brass finish full meridian and mahogany square base.
Very clean condition with only light paint losses to the metal components, patina to the mahogany, and very minor spots/wear to the globe itself.
Rewired and ready for immediate use.

Holding a BFA from Kansas City Art Institute (1965) and an MFA from Claremont Graduate University in California (1967), Nichols was educated in painting and complex pottery making techniques at an academic level and later served as an educator at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, Southwestern College in Chula Vista, CA, and The Chrysler Museum School in Norfolk, VA.
The second floor of the new student center at Kansas City Art Institute is named for Nichols (see image).
This piece dates to the early 1990s, based on the signature “D. Nichols,” which she used during that era and features a square-form planter in blue and cream matte glaze with a bubble/orb pattern. Supported by four notched feet. Gentle, organic color palette and sculptural form.

Vintage Custom-Made Ochre Naugahyde Wrapped Console Table
Circa 1970s-1980s custom-made console table composed of a solid wooden frame that has been wrapped in an ochre Naugahyde and embellished with stud / nailhead trim.
Both sides are finished, though one shows some bubbling from where the adhesive was applied to the Naugahyde. There is a tiny spot of Naugahyde loss to the corner (easy to miss) with a few scuffs to the surface and base. Overall, excellent, vintage condition.
