Vintage Italian Walnut, Beech and Brass Writing Table Desk by Gio Ponti for BNL

Iconic writing table designed in the 1940s by Gio Ponti for Schirolli to furnish BNL (Banca Nazionale del Lavoro) offices across Italy.
This early 1950s model was acquired directly from the Rome Bissolati BNL headquarters (Ponti also used this design for the University of Padua).
Composed of a walnut, beech, and fruitwood frame with laminate top, dual dovetailed drawers, brass pulls/sabots, and single lock, all further supported by a lower stretcher.
Beautifully aged, original condition with warm patina and natural wear from use (surface and frame scuffs / one small spot of laminate loss along with tarnish to the unpolished brass, as shown).
We have a total of four of these desks, all obtained from Rome Bissolai BNL. Listing is for the single desk pictured.

Vintage Maitland Smith Drum Accent Table in Tessellated Stone with Brass Inlay

Attractive accent/side table in beige tessellated fossil stone with brass inlay border by Maitland-Smith (ca. 1970s, Philippines).
Very good, vintage condition with light wear naturally occurring in the stone itself.
There is one spot where the brass trim is recessed/uneven. This is not damage, but instead a minor manufacturer’s flaw (the stone around that recessed brass banding is smooth, not coarse — see 12th photo).
Retains the manufacturer’s label on the reverse.

American (circa 1970s) file holder composed of a solid stained-oak frame divided into two sections, each with separate handle and file name card holder.
Nice dovetail joint detail to edges. Handsome table / desktop decorative item that is both practical and attractive.
Good, vintage condition with nice patina / wear from age and use. Minor losses to back of cabinet, as pictured.

Vintage Patinated Brass Adjustable Floor Lamp by Chapman

Chapman floor lamp in brass with triangular shade, round base and ‘capsule’ on / off switch (1970s, USA). The shade is fully adjustable, offering full 360 degree mobility, along with a swiveling arm with full height adjustability from 34.5″ to 55.63″. Nice patina / age to this piece with general wear throughout (scuffs, a patch of tarnish to the unpolished base, and scuffs / scratches to the shade, as shown). Will be presented newly rewired and ready for immediate use.

Inspired by Samuel Gottscho’s 1939 “Trylon and Perisphere” exhibited at the 1939 World’s Fair, the bulbous, orb-form iron bases are contrasted by the sharp, streamlined blades/uprights.
Rich, natural patina to the unpolished brass along with light scuffing, as shown. Polishing will eradicate most of the wear.

Composed of a round wall bracket supporting both arm/shade and brass drop down stem comprising two tubular brass ‘poles’ attached via a coupler. One stem or both can be used, adding either 15″ or 30″, respectively to the height of the fixture.
Features the Chapman signature dimmer ‘ball’ knob along with a unique geometric-form swiveling shade offering full 360 degree mobility.

Vintage Rosewood and Spanish Cedar Cigar Box / Humidor with Brass Accents

Elegant humidor veneered in rosewood with brass corner and hinged detail. Interior is solid Spanish Cedar, the ideal wood for cigar storage, as it is not prone to warping, can repel tobacco beetles, and holds more moisture than most woods, allowing it to maintain humidity.
Circular spot on lid’s interior suggests that a hygrometer might have been added at some point, then removed.
Light wear to the brass (spots of tarnish). Besides that and very minimal general wear, the piece is in very nice, vintage condition.
