1970s American Studio Craft Blown Glass Lamp by Richard Harkness
$650.00Studio glass lamp with original shade made by renowned glass blower, Richard Harkness (New Hampshire, USA, circa 1970s). Harkness’s work can be seen in a number of prestigious galleries and museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Additionally, he was formerly a professor of glassblowing at Haystack Mountain School of Arts.
Harkness’s lamps are scarcely seen. This particular ‘orb’ art glass lamp features a bubble motif throughout. The teal color at the top fades into a pale blue / almost clear glass finish creating a nice contrast. The original shade is present, but shows some unraveling / loss to the weave at the top, as shown. The glass is free of defects, chips, cracks.
Artist’s etched signature present on the underside.
We have a separate blown glass lamp by Harkness pictured here but listed separately.
