Set of Three Vintage Sicilian Pescatore and Limone Handpainted Ceramic Tiles

$475.00

Set of three hand-painted ceramic tiles newly framed depicting scenes commonly associated with Sicilian/Italian coastal living: two fisherman – one wrangling fish, another lobster and one lemon motif (ca. 1970s, Italy).
Charming visuals in vibrant colors of yellow, red, green, orange, black, brown, periwinkle and blue.
Several Italian artists, including Giovanni De Simone, by whom these pieces were influenced, used the cubist aesthetic of Pablo Picasso as a base and created an amalgam of Italian folk art (simplicity, inaccuracy and crudeness of subject) with modernism in the use of color and shape.
Tiles out of frames are marked “Made in Italy.”
Each framed tile measures roughly – H: 6.88″ x L: 6.88″ x D: 1.5″ (slight dimensional disparity between the three).
Excellent, vintage condition with only light wear/patina to the wooden frames.
Floating nightstand used for scale/context and is available separately but not included

Small Eames for Herman Miller Black Laminate, Plywood, and Chrome LTR SideTable

$300.00

Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller LTR (low table rod) side table originally designed in 1950 in layered plywood with a black laminate top supported by a resistance-welded chromed metal cross-brace base (ca. 2003, USA).
The design of the table was influenced by airplane construction, and the the goal was to create a high-strength, low-weight structure using similar bracing struts and wires for support.
The small size (scaled down from the larger version from the same series) coupled with an extraordinary capability to withstand heavy weight lends itself to use as a handy low sofa or bedside table, stool, plant stand, or easily transportable writing surface/tray table. It can also sit atop a larger table or console.
Despite its simplicity, there are stylish design attributes including the architectural chromed-steel base and beveled edges, which better reveals the seven surface layers of birch plywood.
Minimal, elegant piece that is equally practical and durable.
Good, used condition (patch of wear to black laminate surface along with general wear to the metal base, as shown).
Retains the Eames for Herman Miller tag to the reverse (this particular tag was used between 2003-2007).

Should this lump of clay become a vessel and Should it dry without crack, Fire without flaw and Serve without breaking, Then may it claim For its maker A tiny bit of immortality.” – Deanna Nichols, 2008
