Steampunk Folk Art Scarlet Tanager Songbird Found Object Sculpture by Jim Mullan

$950.00

Petite Steampunk songbird (presumably a Scarlet Tanager) perched on a blue croquet ball by Jim and Tori Mullan (ca. 2006, USA).
No two birds were designed the same, each was hand-painted and embellished with a unique assemblage of found objects and remnants demonstrating the fragile balance between nature and industry.
Each design gives renewed life to these once used objects of bygone eras, collectively working together to shape each bird’s personality and identity.
This songbird is in good, original condition with natural patina/wear to the found object accents (gouges in the croquet ball, tarnish to the metal elements, etc.). Stable/structurally sound.
Charming conversation piece that works well with a variety of interiors given the various styles and ages of the found object components employed.
H: 6.75″ x L: 5.25″ x D: 3″
Illegible signature present to the reverse.
