Antique French Faïence Barbotine Sarreguemines “Pichet Tête” / “Head Pitcher”

Whimsical majolica/faïence earthenware barbotine ‘pichet tête” / “head pitcher” from the Sarreguemines factory (ca. 1910s-20s, France).
Caricatural depiction of a jolly character with exaggerated features – (bulbous nose, thin red-lipped, toothy smile, and rosy cheeks). Given the fact that the design is a jug/pitcher, presumably our jolly man is visibly inebriated and in good spirits.
Charming piece that blends humor with artistic skill in attractive colors with normal wear consistent with age and use (patina/crazing).
Unmarked.
H: 9.5″ x L: 10″ x D: 7″
Listed separately is a similar pitcher (same jolly fellow, slightly newer production).
